Ejector Refrigerators

ThermAvant’s Ejector Refrigeration units convert low-cost or waste heat into useful cooling using supersonic single- and binary fluid ejectors at COPs at or above those achievable with absorption coolers.

ThermAvant Technologies has unique expertise and experience in the design, fabrication, and testing of thermally-powered, ejector-based chillers. Ejectors (or steam jet coolers) use heat rather than electrical-mechanical energy to entrain and compress low-temperature refrigerants.

Unlike absorption chillers, ejectors are compact and relatively simple to build and operate. ThermAvant’s patent-pending HHP-JET uses environmentally friendly fluids to achieve coefficients of performance (COPs) greater than 1.0 while delivering 0-10°C cooling and running off of heat sources of 100-250°C.  

ThermAvant has designed and built ejectors for government and academic partners and has several patents in this field.
